Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, John got his technical start as a proud member of the United States Air Force. His technical training and interest in avionics and electronics led him to pursue a degree in Engineering Technology. John began his engineering career in a small 5 person controls integration firm as a junior controls engineer and designer and began working from the ground up actually fabricating and wiring the very control panels he was tasked with engineering. This experience, combined with his military background, reinforces his adamant belief that there are no shortcuts to success. He eagerly learned the art of efficient design and control in the material handling world and gained a deep appreciation for the correct and efficient application of controls technologies while enjoying the fortunate experience of being mentored by some of the best controls engineers in the automation arena. 

He joined Technical Associates in June of 1995 as a controls engineer designing paper converting controls systems and writing PLC and HMI code for what was then TA's largest customer. His career steadily progressed within TA to Sr. Engineer, Electrical Engineering Department Manager, Branch Manager, Operations Manager, Vice President, and he now operates as co-leader of Technical Associates as our President of Operations. He has worked within and managed resources and projects in six of TA's locations and has played an integral role in new office development and the formation of TA's newest business entities. John knows TA's business at every level and is a passionate driver of TA's growth and continued diversification and strives to promote quality, pride, ownership, and customer focus in everything we do. He is a firm believer that we must work intently and deliberately to meet our commitments to our customers, our teammates, and that we owe it to ourselves to take pride in what we do, but also that we balance this ambition with family and fulfilling pursuits away from our daily work.
